Tarika
Counselling Psychologist
Service Description
Tarika has completed an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology and has over 200 hours of experience working with clients across a range of concerns and backgrounds. She believes that every person carries unique experiences, stories, and ways of making sense of the world around them. What draws her to therapy is the opportunity to create a space where individuals can pause, reflect, and feel truly heard. She finds it meaningful to walk alongside people as they explore their emotions, deepen their understanding of themselves, and navigate life’s challenges in ways that feel authentic to them. Her aim is to create a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel comfortable being themselves. She works from a person-centred, relational, trauma-informed, and queer-affirmative approach, where therapy is collaborative and tailored to each person’s experiences, needs, and pace. She also draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and cognitive frameworks when appropriate, adapting her approach to each individual’s needs and goals. She values empathy, curiosity, and understanding the person beyond their concerns. She believes healing happens within safe and meaningful relationships and strives to bring genuine presence, compassion, and curiosity into every session. Tarika supports individuals experiencing anxiety, stress and overthinking, low mood, difficulties with emotional regulation, self-esteem and self-worth concerns, relationship and interpersonal challenges, grief and loss, career-related concerns, life transitions, childhood experiences and trauma-related concerns, procrastination and motivation difficulties, as well as those seeking greater self-understanding and personal growth.
